Rava Ladoo

We used to make this Rava Laddu for Diwali at our home. It is easy to make and has an excellent shelf life.It can stay fresh for a month when stored in air tight containers.

Ingredients
Coarse Rava : 1 cup
Sugar: 1 cup
Ghee: 1/4 cup
Cardomom-3
Yields: 12 medium sized ladoos
Procedure:
Step1:
Roast the rava with 1 tsp of ghee until a nice aroma comes out (The color will also change lightly)
Make sure that the rava doesnt get burnt.Stir continuously

Step2:
Cool the rava and powder it to a fine powder

Step3:
Powder the sugar and cardomom as well and mix it with rava powder

Step4:
Heat ghee and fry the cashews

Step5:
When the ghee is still warm pour it into the rava mixture and mix well

Step6:
Press tightly and make the laddoos. if the powder is still brittle add some more warm ghee and make the shapes

Step7:
Once cooled store them in air tight container

Note:
You can also make ladoos by sprinkling warm milk and reducing the amount of ghee. However this will reduce the shelf life

  10. You seem to be a Laddoo expert. So many awesome types.. Hey do you know how to make "small boondhi laddo"?? Its called "Motichoor Laddoo" which is my favorite next only to Tirupathi style laddoo. Can you post that sometime(only if you can) in the near future and let me know?? I want to see step by step instructions like your other posts.. Tx

    1. Hi Ramya,

Coconut powder will reduce the shelf life. If you want store for 1 month, please do not add coconut powder.

Also make sure that you use pure ghee
