Methi Pulav

Level: Easy
Preparation Time: 10 minutes
Cooking Time: 30 minutes
Serves:2



Ingredients:
Basmati Rice: 1 cup
Chopped methi leaves: 1/2 cup
Chopped coriander leaves: 1 tablespoon
Chopped mint leaves: 1 tablespoon
Chopped tomato: 1 medium sized
Chopped onion: 1 medium sized
Chilli powder: 1.5 tsp
Turmeric powder:1/4 tsp
Coriander powder: 1 tsp
Salt: 1.5 tsp
Oil: 2 tsp
Jeera(Cumin seeds): 1 tsp
Ginger minced: 2 tsp
Green chillies chopped: 1 (optional)

Procedure:
Step1:
Soak the Basmati rice fro 15 min and drain it well.


Step2
Heat oil in a pressure cooker and add cumin seeds.


Step3:
Once it starts spluttering add onion & ginger and fry them until slight brown


Step4:
Now add tomato, chopped methi, coriander and mint leaves, chilli powder, coriander powder and saute well
Step5:
Add Basmati rice and fry it for 2 minutes. Add salt as well
Step6:
Now add water and cook for 3 whistles. (If using electric rice cooker, transfer the contents after step5 to rice cooker and add water and cook)
